Happy New Year–2017

happy-new-year-2017I’m not a huge believer in New Year’s resolutions because I’m not sure I’ve followed through on any one of them longer than a month, and that was a really long time for me.  In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t have much of an attention span, and certainly have a hard time following through especially on things like eating right, exercising, and writing daily.

Maybe you have the same issues.

My only goal this year is to go to a fancy restaurant once a month with my family.  It was painfully obvious that we’ve gone to far too few nice restaurants to eat.  We don’t remember which fork to use, whose plate belongs to whom, and whether or not to use our hands when a dish is placed on the table.  Take us to Chili’s and we know exactly what’s expected but take us to The Market and we’re like deer caught in the Maserati headlights.

That’s going to change.  I want my kids to feel confident no matter what meal situation they find themselves in.  Is this a stupid goal?  Yes but it’s one I feel I can truly follow-through on.  After all, I won’t have to cook!

May your goals be way more fun than weight loss and weight lifting.

Cheers to 2017!
